Episode #2 - The Good, the Bad and the Pug-ly

It's finally time for episode #2.  We hope to record more often and get them posted in a timely manner now that we have worked out some of the logistics.

We are excited to announce that we are now listed in the iTunes store's podcast section!  Please, tell your friends, guildmates and random pugs about us!

While we have managed to get on iTunes, Fidelma is still working on getting our webpage hosted and constructed.  Bug her about it and maybe it will happen.  And now - our show notes for episode #2.

Thanks!
  • We want to thank Dan Darden for recording our intro and soon (we hope) outro for the podcast.  Dan is great for voice-over work.  Let us know if you want to use him too!
  • Also, we want to thank Music Alley for our intro music.

Looking for group:
  • The new system allows you to get emblems, gear or experience faster than ever before in the game.
  • If you are a tank or a healer, click the button and shortly enter your dungeon, but if you are a dps go do a daily while you wait.
  • Tanks that run at warp speed - the new healer challenge!

Etiquette for LFG:
  • The best advice: Be Kind. Before offering (uninvited) comments about your group mates or raid team, ask yourself if you're being kind. If not, rework your thoughts, or keep them to yourself.
  • If you're in endgame content, your group may be comprised of various gear levels. Your tank/healer/dps may have just hit level 80. You were there once too.
  • If you're still leveling, your group may have a variety of gear levels as well, but on top of this you may have a part-time tank or healer who is just learning how to play that side of their toon.
  • Keep in mind, if anyone really offends/annoys you, you can /ignore, and you'll never group with them again - wow Blizzard has some magic running behind the scenes
  • State stuff up front.  If you are a new healer/tank, let the group know.  If you need to make it to the last boss in a dungeon where people frequent quit after the first boss (Pit of S), then ask from the start.  Also, some people well state what they are going to roll need on in regards to drop - talking about main/second spec options.

The Loot Ninja - giving Ninja's a bad name:
  • Unfortunately, there is very little you can do as GMs are swamped.
  • For a raid, if you enter it you are agreeing to the person being loot master - and they may not be a great loot master.

The best reason to pug - The Pug vanity pet and the title - The Patient.

Site of the episode:
Warcraftpets.com
  • Breanni - known by many as the pet shop keeper in Dalaran, but for those of us with pet addiction we've known her longer as the creator of Warcraftpets.
  • You can find out about the pug as well as all the latest about vanity pets both in the world of Azeroth as well as in real life.  Fidelma is particularly excited about the announcement of the new pet plushies that will come with in-game companions as well.
  • And if you are crazy enough to be trying for the Kirin Tor pet by reading the books of Higher Education she has a complete write up of how to go about getting it.
That's it for this episode.  We'll see you next time where we might talk about guilds - or something equally as hair-pulling!
Fidelma, the new guildmaster, and Gariath, the newest officer of Silver Dragoons
